Instructor: Rev. Dr. Paul Michael Raymond
E-mail: pastor@HisGlory.us
Phone: 434 941-1895
Course Description
The course covers basic principles of economics using the text, "Economics: Principles and Policy From a Christian Perspective." Starting from the nature of man it moves on to other foundational, economic presuppositions derived from the Bible. Biblical principles are integrated with economic model building to answer everyday questions about how the world works,
We move beyond just dry discussion of contrived scenarios on how many "widgets" a factory should produce. The course applies theory to real-world questions about the interplay of economics and politics. That includes discussion of alternative explanations of economic phenomena from the classic, "Economics In One Lesson" by Henry Hazlitt. The latter include factors such as monopoly, limited liability, the market system, supply and demand, pricing, and the theory of the firm.
