Author Reveals the Nuances behind the Modern Health Care System

Norfolk, NE (PRWEB) August 16, 2012

For author C. Robert Adams, M.D., the more half truths there are, the better it is in trying to find the whole truth. In The X-rayed Book of Medical Care, he aims to enlighten reading audiences by filling in the blanks of the medical system, health care and its delivery through a carefully selected collection of medical essays.

The average patient and many medical professionals are befuddled by the decision making, change, structure, and character of health care. Several of the reasons for ambiguous and sometimes bewildering public health care perceptions include distorted politics, lack of emphasis on medical education (Adams refers to it as dumbing down of our society) and gross and blatant misrepresentation by the press. The X-rayed Book of Medical Care fills in the voids to proceed towards a more complete, thoughtful, and common sense understanding of the health care system. The target group includes high school students and older, as well as medical professionals and patients.

“I am a full-time clinician who truly cares about his patients and worries about the overall medical well-being of our society and public. My hope is to try to present medical options, diagnosis, and treatment in a straightforward and clear fashion,” Adams writes in the introduction. “Unfortunately, there tends to be much deception, camouflage, and ulterior motives in presenting medical knowledge and possibilities. Obfuscation is the rule.”

“Death panels” (rationing of care), hospitalists, inane limitations in cancer screening, and frivilousness in heavily funded medical research are exposed. Issues as regards to use of over-the-counter herbs and supplements, alcohol, cigarettes, and marijuana are discussed. Means are suggested to approach such fuzzy problems as hyperactivity, dizziness, psychiatric misdirection, retired tiredness, childhood insurrection, as well as irresistible or impossible sleep.

The communicaton and style of writing used in the X-rayed Book of Medical Care is purposefully presented without annotation. This will hopefully promote common sense, discernment, and a positive, if not optimistic, cognitive outlook towards the medical process. With observation, information, facts and reality as the basis for this monumental read, Adams hopes that this book will encourage clear perception and thought with regard to the nuances of the modern health care system.
